ASSISTance: October 2018

General Updates

  • ASSIST Vendor Resources – We are pleased to announce the addition of two new developers to the Fairway team. We look forward to an increased development pace with a highly experienced and supportive vendor.
  • Data Extracts Extensive analysis was done to compare Legacy ASSIST extracts with new ASSIST extracts in order to provide extract data (with some limitations) to UCOP and the CSUCO for use in the applyUC and Cal State Apply applications respectively. General extract data for campuses should become available in early 2019.
  • System Migration to Azure Environment – Migrated the new system from UC ITS virtual machines over to cloud hosting, which will give users (and our developers) much greater efficiency, flexibility, and system stability.

For Articulation Officers and Data Managing ASSIST Users

User-specific communication will continue to be delivered via the ASSIST AO listservs, while general updates will be provided here.

  • Updated ResourcesCSU and UC AO User Guide was updated on the Resources tab of the ASSIST Resource Center
  • Resolved browser long-running script issue – The issue was causing process delays when users were working in Articulation templates (“wait or end process” browser warnings).
  • Resolved system time-out issue – After migrating to the Azure environment, we learned the system had defaulted to a 15-20 minute system timeout versus the prior 48 hour timeout, and this was resolved.
  • After Hours System Maintenance – With the transition to the Azure environment, new procedures allow for ASSIST to schedule system maintenance downtime to be held after normal business hours. Users should no longer need to log off during normal business hours for system maintenance.
