ASSISTance: January 2019

General Updates

• Happy New Year! We hope everyone had an enjoyable winter break. We have a lot to be excited for in 2019!
• ASSIST Office Closed: Monday, February 18, 2019 - Please note that the ASSIST office will be closed on Monday, February 18 in observance of Presidents' Day.
• New ASSIST Public Site Update - We are on track for the May 2019 release of the new ASSIST public website. Rollout of the new public website will include a Student Outreach Toolkit for campuses. The ASSIST team looks forward to previewing the site at the CIAC Conference in April and celebrating the same during the ETS Conferences in May.
• CSU GE, CSU AI, IGETC Review Cycle - The ASSIST team partnered with the CSU Office of the Chancellor (CSUCO) and UC Office of the President (UCOP) to provide initial training and is providing ongoing reviewer support during the annual review cycle, which is now in progress.

For Articulation Officers and Data Managing ASSIST Users

User-specific communication will continue to be delivered via the ASSIST AO listservs, while general updates will be provided here. 

• Message Center  - This is a general reminder that the new ASSIST Message Center is under construction. Please do not depend on the Message Center for important communication. Due to ongoing system development, the content of the messages may not be accurately capturing curriculum or workflow updates. 
• Cross-listing and Course Reactivations  - These functions are currently, temporarily, administrator-only functions. Send cross-listing and course reactivation requests to your assigned Articulation Specialist.
• Curriculum Updates for the Summer Term - In Legacy ASSIST, any curriculum changes that needed to be entered for the coming summer term took place in the first two weeks of February. In new ASSIST, you can enter curriculum changes for any term at any time. For those who prefer to enter curriculum changes in new ASSIST according to the Legacy ASSIST schedule, the coming two weeks might be a good time to enter any curriculum changes for the Summer 2019 term if you haven't done so already.
• Curriculum Updates Pending Publication - Please check your Curriculum Area Publish tab (various terms) to make sure curriculum updates have been published. AOs will be hearing from ASSIST staff regarding unpublished curriculum updates. The other areas of the system (reports, articulation, workflow, and public site displays) won’t update until curriculum updates are published. To ensure users are seeing accurate course data, AOs need to regularly confirm that curriculum updates are published. 
• Transferability Tool Questions - Don’t see a specific course you think should be on a transfer.assist.org list? Check the Course Reports in the Reports Area of the new ASSIST system, consult the AO at the specific campus, then contact ASSIST staff.
